If there’s something that BDO must find ways is to find ways of how they will improve their credit card collection.
Credit cards are life savers in case of money emergency and I say many times I have been saved by my cards until BDO gave me a horrifying experience.
As much as I can, I pay my monthly installment bills on time so that I will not incur additional interest. I am about to pay for my last monthly payment when I received a billing statement almost double of the amount I am supposed to pay. I immediately settled this with BDO and I got assured that they will take actions. They also admitted mistakes on their part. I was pacified and thought that was it, nothing to be worried of.
But what’s this, another billing statement after I have fully paid my fees? I again called their attention on this and was assured again that they will take immediate action and there’s nothing to worry. Nothing to worry when another billing statement was sent to me and with a scary note of forwarding these unpaid bills of mine to legal procedures? Can you imagine that? I will be sued for unpaid bills when I have paid it full and on time!
BDO keeps on assuring me that they have corrected their own mistake but their wrong bills keep on coming. I canceled my card with them and just keep my debit card.
On the other hand, BDO is a good bank. Local branch staffs are friendly but most of the time hapless when the problem is with the central office. Banking period is longer than other banks and there’s always a BDO branch in every SM malls. Local branch is prompt in their updates and their ATM is a good alternative for banking transactions.
I enjoy BDO services except of course with their credit card collection. I am not at this moment fully convinced that I should transfer my account to other banks even though I have heard of many horrible experiences with BDO credit cards from other bank’s account holders.
It’s their credit collection that makes BDO a horrible bank. If they are saying they are finding ways to give satisfaction to their clients, they should start finding ways to improve their credit card collections before loyal client like me will find ways of transferring to another bank!
