Compaq F500 Laptop Review-Old Faithful

I have this Compaq F500 laptop that I bought about 7 yrs ago.I think I have had it worked on once or twice.A virus and the keypad.It slows down and I will delete everything off of it and start over again.Then all is good for a while.Then it slows down again and we go back to our old routine.This has been a very reliable laptop.I don't put  a lot of stuff on it.Mostly just let my granddaughters play games on it.
I had tried to update the system before,but it wouldn't take.Not enough memory on it.And it being as old as it is,I don't want to spend a lot of money on it.So I just let the girls use it.I will pull the Internet up every once in a while.But it is so slow,you just get aggravated with it.But it's OK for the girls to use fir games or watch a movie on.It has really stood the test of time.I have had to replace a desktop and a laptop,but this one just keeps going.Like a times,it takes a lick and keeps on ticking.
I didn't pay that much for it,so I'm really surprised it has lasted as long as it has.So I can say that Compaq is a really reliable laptop.I would purchase another Compaq as long as it lasts as long as this one.

Tokyo-Tokyo Restaurants: Not my Most loved Japanese Restaurant

Obviously, Tokyo-Tokyo is a Japanese Quick Service Restaurant Chain in the Philippines, though they claim to be the leading Japanese Fast Food Chain, I consider it not. 

Not being biased due to the fact that I love Teriyaki Boy the most, however, Tokyo-Tokyo is more accessible to where I live that is why I am trying to consider going there. I have been to Tokyo-Tokyo Restaurant at SM San Lazaro, Trinoma Mall, SM Manila many times, but it seems like when it comes to food, wherever Tokyo-Tokyo branch I dine-in doesn’t satisfy my taste buds and my craving stomach.

Last week, while having some groceries at SM San Lazaro, I decided to dine-in at Tokyo-Tokyo since I was then craving for Ebi or Prawn tempura. The restaurant had some renovations from the counter to their eating area. I love the couch part and I can certainly say I have no negative remark on that matter. 

Hmmm! At the Counter side, the place where customers take orders, giving space for long lines is better than the past. Although, I did not see any long lines then unlike in the nearby restaurants inside SM San Lazaro, which have long lines like that in Kenny Rogers, Jollibee, McDonalds and others. That is one reason why I chose dining-in at Tokyo-Tokyo to avoid that long line.

After taking my orders, locating for an empty table was easy because as I said there are just a few customers inside. After 5 minutes of waiting, my orders came and I was kind of disappointed with the platter because the rice was placed in the wrong side of the platter. 

My verdict on the food is as usual. Am still not satisfied because the prawn tempura was greasy and I needed to soak it over the sauce to neutralize the fat. So far, the salad is fine and was better the last time I ate there. The red tea always tastes so sweet for me, which made me to request for more ice. 

I cannot say much either regarding their service because as long as the food is served well with smiling crew, hence, that is sufficient enough for me giving a good remark. I am more concerned with the taste, I mean it has to be authentic taste of a real Japanese food or at least close to an authentic one.

Undoubtedly, Tokyo-Tokyo is good for people who are concerned with a low budget Japanese cuisine and not for those who are into the authenticity Japanese cuisine. On the lighter note, it is better than in Karate Kid Restaurant.

Product Review: Eureka Forbes Aquasure Nano RO not up to the mark!

Actually the usefulness of RO water purifier can not be denied in our daily life. As we have become more susceptible to the diseases caused by the impure water, we ought to require an effective water purifier system at our home.

I planned to buy a new Water Purifier quite 10 months ago because we needed the latest Water purifier to clarify the heavy water of our area. The water supply to our area comes from underground, and it is extremely mineral rich, or it is unusually heavy. When we put water without filtering in a broad vessel,  we can see a lot of mineral and salt depositing at the base of the vessel. Earlier we used to have a stereotypical, and undemanding water purifier and that was also of the same Eureka Forbes Company.

As me and my husband both are acutely aware about the brand name, so we searched a lot to get a nifty RO system in our home. We saw many brands like Kent, Whirlpool, but they were somewhat bigger in size as per our requirements. We wanted a purifier with little capacity like for 5 to 7 liters of storage capacity, so that we can use the fresh water. If the tank would be large, then we would not be getting fresh water as there are few members in our family.

So finally, we purchased Aquaguard’s Aquasure Nano RO with 5 litres of capacity; it was a lovely looking RO system. After 2-3 days of use, it started creating problem, initially the water was not coming out of the tap. And then after, some time the water came out, but the tank started leaking. We were so shocked to see that the whole kitchen was flooded with water. We switched off its power and made a complaint to their service centre.

I do not know whether the Nano RO product was not up to mark or Aquaguard people lack in their services. We waited for around 2-3 days by just sitting at home that someone will come to solve our problem, but it was all futile. Suddenly after 3 days one so called engineer came and he did something to that little, cute RO apparatus. He said that as the salt quantity in the water is high the tube was jammed or clogged; we did not get his point.

We were so shocked to learn that, after 3- 4 days, the filter would get clogged, then how we will handle it for few years. After that again it showed the same problem within 10 days and again we have to make complaints, then wait for their mechanic to come and this vicious circle was going on.

We were totally fed up of that product, and we cultivated a habit of switching it off at night and before locking our house as we go outside.

Its overflowing problem was making trouble now and then, one day we decided to lodge a complaint to their Mumbai head office about the product. Then one angel looking like man came, and he experimented with our equipment for about 2 hours. He checked each and every part of that apparatus and changed few also. Then he said that he has identified the problem and has fixed it, now it will not cause any problem.

Luckily, after that day, our RO has been working perfectly, so we are still unable to conclude whether the product was not up to mark or their service is lousy and not up to the mark. But thank God, all is well that ends well!

Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo Review-Great Shampoo

I keep a bottle of Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo in my house all the time.It's the only shampoo my granddaughters can use.Their skin is very sensitive and they get infections if they use something else.We use the baby shampoo as a bath wash also.

If they use regular shampoo,soap,or bubble bath they end up with urinary infections.So they play in the water,using shaving cream.They do not wash their hair until they get ready to get out of the tub.We have tried all different types of body wash,shampoo,soaps,everything.

If they get a hold of there mother's shampoo(and they do from time to time),they end up going to the dr,because they end up with an infection.They use the baby shampoo to be able to have a few bubbles in the water.The baby shampoo is the only thing they have used with luck.So we keep it at our house.We are still cautious,but we have had no problems so far.They love being able to have a bubble bath from time to time.And it's also from Johnson & Johnson,so it's a good family name.

It happens to be soap free,gentle and hypoallergenic,so it won't sting the eyes.And that's the important thing to kids.Johnson & Johnson is a name you can trust.We are very thankful for the baby shampoo.It has allowed my granddaughters to enjoy bath time.

Estee lauder Signature lipstick- A thing a woman can’t live without

Next to her cell phone, a career woman can’t live without her lipstick and I am one woman who can’t live without my Estee Lauder signature lipstick. I have been using Estee lauder signature lipstick for years and nothing can make me part with. I love its smell and its hard and firm stick that absolutely won’t break easily. It is something that women on the go would love.

Power Wheels Barbie Cadillac Escalade-Powerful and Durable Car

This little car is loaded with extras.It has a 12 volt battery and is so durable that I think it will last forever.My granddaughter got one about 4 years ago.She is now 9 and her sister is 6.Her and her sister play in that car all the time.It is outside in the weather all the time.It has a real working fm radio with preset stations and rear speakers.It has reverse and 2 forward speeds.The speeds are 2.5 and 5.Power lock brakes.
The thing I like about the brakes is when they let up off the gas pedal,the car stops then.The battery holds really well.Even though we do have 2.We had to have a backup battery.That way they can still ride while the other is charging.My granddaughters are very rough and tumble.They play like little boys.So it has to be tough to last under them.The only thing that is gonna happen is they are going to outgrow the car.The oldest one still rides in it,even though her knees are bent up.
We took the doors off to accompany there height,it now looks more like a jeep.They sit on the back of it and the other drives it.It gets rode daily.We may change the battery once a week or maybe every week and  a half.Once they finally do outgrow it.I guess it will go to one of my nieces to carry on.It says it is for ages 3 and up.And the weight limit is 130 lbs.But my son in law and his brother have been on it also,playing with the girls.They both weigh about 180.
This is the best toy car I have ever seen.I think it destined to be here forever.It has cup holders in it.It is hot pink and purple for the girls.The boys is black and red.It well worth the money.Believe me me, they will get every penny back out of it for you.

Recipe Review: Soulful Basa Fish Curry!

I have never been a hard core non vegetarian, always liked to eat in small quantities and few times in a week or say a month. So, when I got to know that my husband has quit eating chicken and red meat, I was not so shocked. He was not accustomed to eating fish at the time of our wedding as he does not like its smell. But gradually he has also developed his fish tasting buds.

We used to eat some Indian fish fillets like Bengal Carp (Singhara), Black King Fish and sometimes Rohu (not so much as it has small bones). Few days ago I went to the departmental store and found a new batch of frozen products were there. Just by curiosity I took a pack, and it was of Basa Fish fillets, I was reluctant to buy it as was not sure about its taste and was quite expensive also. When I asked the salesperson about that particular fish, he said it is a type of Cat fish mainly popular in Vietnam. I was happy to know about the seller’s knowledge, and then after thinking for a while, I purchased it.

It was kept in my freezer for about a week, and then finally one day I took it out and decided to cook it. While I was defrosting it, it did not give me any sticky feeling as I used to get while washing fish products. It was so fresh and intact that I was filled with good thoughts about the high quality of the product.

I decided to make it with some special recipe, and I marinated it with the paste of onion, garlic, roasted cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cinnamon, cardamom and one green chilly. I marinated it for 15-20 minutes. Then I deep fried it and dried the extra oil in the tissue paper.




I prepared the gravy stereotyped by adding onion, garlic, ginger paste and some powdered dried spices. However, the aroma of the curry was undoubtedly much tempting and then finally I added the fish fillets. I was exceeding much scared about the fish pieces, to get scrambled and tossed it extremely slowly.

I kept it cooking for more than 10 minutes, and it was so funny to see that the fish fillet was still intact. Now, the next thing was to serve it, and when my family tasted it, I was waiting, for the response to coming, but no body uttered a single word. I was so confused, but I could see that everyone was relishing the meal. Suddenly, my husband complimented that the dish was incredible and then I could not resist myself and tasted a bit, and honestly it was something extraordinary. It has got no tangy taste that usually a fish has it was just melting inside the mouth.

I will surely say that it was the best fish I have ever tasted and cooking it was such a relishing experience. Really value for money!

The Paper Mate Profile pen is the smoothest writing pen I have wrote with.It is very inexpensive.You can get 2 for $1.44 at Wal-Mart.I usually keep a lot of pens around.my granddaughters are always getting the pens and losing them,so I have my stash of pens,too.Everywhere I go.They are in my car and truck and all through the house.In my purse,project bags.

It is a 1.4 barrel,so it is a bold writing pen.But it just glides across the paper.I keep a few around everywhere.This is the only pen I like to write with.My granddaughters love it too.Which is why I have to hide mine.It comes in a variety of colors.I usually use black or blur.Black mostly.It also has a soft comfort grip on the pen,which comes in handy when you are writing a lot.

This is one pen I hope they never quit making.It doesn't skip or leak on your paper.The words come out perfect every time.It is retractable,so that makes it easy to clip on.They are widely available everywhere.So if want a smooth writing pen,you have to try the Paper Mate Profile. Tussin Dm Review-Strongest Otc Cough Medicine

From time to time I get a very bad cough,similar to a bronchitis cough or the croup.The only medicine I have ever found that can help ease the pain of this coughing is Tussin Dm.It is a very nasty tasting coughing syrup.I have never tasted anything as bad.But I guess you guess used to it after a lot of years.

I have had this cough for as long as I can remember.I have been to the Dr and they say the strongest over the counter cough syrup is Tussin Dm.And with the type of cough that I have,they said to make sure it has the Dm in it.I can get to coughing so bad sometimes,I get sick.It makes your chest hurt from all the coughing.And it is a dry cough,that's what makes it hurt so much.

The ingredients in Tussin Dm has dextromethorphan in it.That is what is supposed to help with the coughing.And there has to be something else in it.Because I have taken other otc products with dextromethorphan and still had problems.It also has guaifensin which is supposed to help loosen up the congestion Drinking extra water while taking Tussin Dm will help the guaifensin works faster.

I keep at least 2 bottles in my cabinet at all times.When I open one I buy another.The worst thing is have a coughing attack at night and not have anything.I learned my lesson.I'm never without it.I had to learn the hard way.I also keep a small bottle in each of my cars,just in case.I am a very loyal customer to Tussin Dm.I can get through the nights thanks to Tussin Dm.

Sharpie Liquid Pencil Review-Not a good Pencil

The Sharpie Liquid Pencil may seem like a dream come true. But it's not. I have actually bought this pencil twice,hoping it had changed since it first came out. No change. I liked the idea, but it doesn't really write like a pencil. It writes more like one of the cheap bag of pens.
The ink is erasable for the 1st 24 hours after that it becomes permanent. And the eraser is nice looking,it's built in to the pencil. But you can use it up really fast. It doesn't last. I like the overall look of the pencil and really wish it was as good as they say. It is supposed to write like a #2 pencil. It doesn't even come close. It writes lighter than that. And a lot thinner lines.
I like the idea of not having to refill leads,but this is a disappointment. Especially coming from Sharpie. They have the best markers of all. This pen/pencil still needs some extra work, that is if thy want to be able to earn any money off of this. Right now they are making money from it, but there will be a lot of returns with this pencil. I carried mine back both times. The 1st time I got was when it first came out and then recently. Well I took mine back and got the mechanical pencils with leads. I don't think I will try this one again.

Aquafina Water-Best Tasting Bottled Water

I just love Aquafina bottled water. I have tried other brands and I don't like the taste of them. My husband says I'm crazy that they all taste the same. I don't think so. But Aquafina bottled water has a clear taste. You taste no chemicals,just clear,crisp pure water. I'm not really into the flavored waters of Aquafina. I like the plain water.

You need several glasses a day,because if you get thirsty,you're already dehydrated. I keep a bottle with me constantly. Try it and see for yourself. I drink a glass when I get up and before bed. And in between I probably drink at least a gallon or more a day. I know I feel better when I drink more water.

Britta Water Filter Review-Getting the Best Water

I love water. There are some who say that water is water,but I don't believe that. I don't like the taste of tap water. Mine doesn't taste good. So I bought a Britta water filter jug. I keep 2 gallon jugs in the fridge filled with the water from my filter. To me tap water tastes of chlorine and I don't think it's healthy. I may be wrong.

But water is good for you and for me to drink it will have to be filtered. I replace the filter every 3 months. I have been using Britta for quite a few years. I never thought about it when I wasn't into the water thing. But when I started my diet and started drinking more water. I knew something would have to change. Best decision I made.I fill my jugs daily,because I drink at least 1 gallon or more myself. Even my granddaughters have noticed the difference in the taste of the water.

The jug was an inexpensive one,it holds about 5 cups I think. I have  to refill it a few times to fill up my gallon jugs,but that's ok. I have no problem doing that. At least this way I don't mind drinking water. My husband says water is nasty it has no taste. Well I disagree,water is a cool and refreshing. And it quenches your thirst.When you get really thirsty nothing but water is gonna satisfy that thirst.So have a cool glass of clear refreshing filtered water.Satisfy that thirst.

Books A million Review-Anderson's Book Store

Books A Million is the only store in Anderson,Sc. I love it because you can find everything you want. Kids love it because it has everything they want. They have games for kids of all ages. Big or small. I like the discount card which allows you to get 10% off the purchase price of anything in the store. Some things have different discounts,

This is a relaxing store.Find a book and sit down and read while the kiddies play in their area or while you shop. My granddaughters and I love going in there. We all get something to suit all of our interests. On the discount table there are lots of goodies from books,games,audio,dvd's and lots of other items.

The discount table is usually where I go first unless I'm there for a specific book. Even then before leaving I still check out the discount table. My granddaughters always find something on the table. There is books for babies to adults. They also sale books online. Same great prices. If there is a book store in your hometown, check them out. If they have a membership card, get it and enjoy the rewards.

We enjoy our bookstore and make several trips in a month. Lucky they are so close by. Only 5 minutes from my house. I go enjoy a look around, pick up some items and relax while the kiddies get their items. Lots of beautiful bookmarks,cards for every occasion,and books for everybody on anything you can think of. We love reading and Books A Million is our favorite store to shop.

 Children from middle- class family like me would practically say they grew up with National Book store. In fact I still carry my Laking National Card long after graduating from college. I was first introduced to books when my Mom took me to National Book store in Rizal Avenue Manila. I fell in love with books and my long affair with National Book store started here.

   My first Nancy Drew Mystery pocketbook was bought at National Book store in Rizal Avenue which during those times was the most popular English Teen Pocketbook available in the Philippines.  Most of my college reference books were also bought here since it carries wide collections of imported and locally published reference books. SM HYPERMARKET (Valenzuela City) It Got It All for Me

  I love going to the market. Every weekend, because of busy schedules, I go to the nearest market in our place to buy things for one week consumptions. I do not fail to bring a list of what to buy and make sure I’ll have everything my family will need for the week. But no matter how hard I try to buy all things I need, there are always things I’m unable to buy such as no mustard because the store has not yet ordered from their delivery man. No broccoli because my Suki didn’t find any in Balintawak (a wholesale market for vegetables) and no cinnamon stick for my herbal tea! Because of this I have to rush to the nearest supermarket which is two jeepney rides away from our house and cost me much time and effort withstanding the fact that I do my marketing only in the morning since it is the best time to get fresh vegetables, fruits and meat products. This has been my dilemma for years until SM hypermarket opened a branch here in our place.

  Thanks goodness, I am now liberated from the hassles of marketing in a public market. I can do my marketing any time of the day and still buy fresh vegetables, fruits and meat products. I can buy ingredients for my daily recipe, none missing, all thrown in my cart!

  SM hypermarket Valenzuela City is not only a hypermarket where you can buy good and fresh farmer’s produce but almost everything you need. . It has a small department store where you can buy clothing, appliances, electronics, home care product and even your favorite kitchen books and magazines.

  Once I had this emergency shopping needs and SM Hypermarket Valenzuela City saved not only my  day but as well as my daughter’s . She had misplaced her swimming cap and she badly needs one for her swimming lesson that next morning. She bought the cap in SM City North Edsa which is one and half hour away from our place and it would be impossible to get there before closing time. I took her to SM Hypermarket Valenzuela, telling and assuring her we can get one there. She didn’t like the idea although she knew there’s a small department store there but swear it’s not complete.  Well, we got one, same swimming cap, label and price! It’s so amazing that SM Hypermarket Valenzuela can really get it all for its customers!

  I am a sucker when it comes to home decors but my health condition does not allow me to travel long distance for sales and bargains. I got my favorite vanity mirror in SM Hypermarket Valenzuela City while my sister In-law got hers (Same brand and price) in Alabang Town mall during a Midnight sale! To think she had to spend for gasoline whereas me, all I did was some leisure walking from my place!

  Now I am a loyal and regular customer, I even got myself my green bag (This is the ecology-friendly SM bag.)

  My admitted addiction to my weekly marketing can be due to good buys and bargains for my money and SM Hypermarket Valenzuela City got it all for me!

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Review-Great Food

If you good old fashioned home cooking, you need to try the food at Cracker Barrel. It is simply delicious. They have some of the best homemade biscuits around. They are so light and fluffy. The food is excellent. They have all of the home cooked foods and desserts. Breakfast is served all day.

The food is served in a very comfortable atmosphere. They have candlelit globes on the tables. And on the walls are relics of days gone by. The huge fireplace is very inviting.
